We are a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and brain imagers. Our group focuses its research on the investigation of the neurobiological mechanisms that predispose to the onset of psychiatric disorders, such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. To this aim, we collect and analyze clinical, environmental, neuropsychological and brain MRI data.

Cosa studiamo

• Brain structure in psychiatric patients and in healthy subjects employing novel neuroimaging analyses (voxel-based morphometry, gyrification index, cortical thickness, fractal dimension, source-based morphometry);
• Brain function both at rest and during the performance of a task in psychiatric patients and in healthy subjects;
• Neuroimaging alterations in subjects at genetic risk for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia;
• Neural correlates of treatment response in psychiatric patients;
• Psychopathological alterations in psychiatric patients and their correlations with neuroimaging abnormalities;
• Genetics (Risk scores, intermediate phenotype)
